When Coty set out to launch a limited-edition Sally Hansen Miracle Gel collection inspired by the legendary Keith Haring, they knew the packaging had to be as dynamic as the art itself. Collaborating with Smurfit Westrock, Coty brought bold, eye-catching designs to life, ensuring the packaging was not only vibrant but also sustainable. The result is a standout package that perfectly captures the spirit of creativity and innovation.

The Challenge

Introducing a nail polish collection inspired by iconic American pop artist and activist Keith Haring, Coty turned to their partners at Smurfit Westrock for help creating packaging as bright, bold and colorful as the artist himself.

The Approach

Our structural and graphic designers got to work creating a package for Coty’s launch. Haring’s disruptive and brazen art influenced creative development for the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel gift set—from the flashy, novel shape of the package to its bright, whimsical character motifs. Composed entirely of paperboard, an open front panel provides ample product visibility, while double back panels add stability and strength, and top and bottom buffers offer protection to the small glass bottles.

The Result

  • Paperboard design delivers strength and protection while eliminating the need for a thermo-formed tray insert  
  • Uniquely shaped die-cut contour delivers an unusual profile in a crowded space
