From Warehouse to Shelf: Orkla’s Seamless Packaging Solution

Orkla New Energy
How we designed packaging that delivers in transit and on the shelf for Orkla’s New Energy bars.
Orkla set out to improve the way its New Energy chocolate bars were packaged, aiming for a solution that was both efficient and sustainable. The company needed a design that could protect products during transport and also serve as an eye-catching display in stores. Working together, we developed a packaging concept that met those goals while streamlining logistics and reducing material use.
Orkla New Energy Bars

The Challenge

Orkla wanted a new packaging solution for its New Energy chocolate bars that could serve as both a transport box and a shelf-ready display in stores. The goal was to simplify the packing process, improve workflow, streamline logistics and reduce material use by eliminating the need for tape.
Orkla New Energy Retail Packaging

The Approach

Our team of designers created a 2-in-1 box with an auto-locking bottom and a secure top closure that requires no tape. The design speeds assembly, streamlines the packaging process and eliminates extra material, while also making recycling easier for logistics and retail staff.

The Result

The final mono-material packaging moves seamlessly from the warehouse to the store. It shifts from a transport box to shelf-ready display in one simple step, saving time, reducing waste and making recycling easier, while presenting the bars for maximum visibility in stores.
