Smurfit Westrock picks up top innovation award from IPC EMEA
The global packaging leader was recognised for continuously improving the packaging for one of the world’s largest fast-food chains, who had identified recyclability as a key part of the brief. The packs were redesigned to facilitate quicker assembly and enhanced brand recognition.
Smurfit Westrock was also tasked with creating a more sustainable pack for the brand’s plastic sandwich platters. Following the switch to a paper-based alternative, the sustainability benefits have been significant.

Smurfit Westrock also recently received the ‘Sustainability Supplier of the Year’ award from Edrington, producer of a range of premium spirits including The Famous Grouse scotch whisky.
