What Are Flutings/Medium?
In containerboard production, flutings (or medium, as it is commonly known in North America) form the wavy, corrugated inner layer of corrugated board. This layer is essential for providing strength, rigidity, and cushioning in packaging materials, helping to protect goods during transportation.
Material and Performance
Flutings are typically made from recycled fibers or virgin kraft fibers. Our fluting paper can be converted and made in different flute profiles. Each profile offers varying levels of cushioning, stacking strength, and flexibility, depending on packaging needs.

Strength Properties
- Substance range: 95 – 210 gsm
- SCT cd values on Medium High Performance 2 (TAPPI T 826) is up to 4.20 kN/m
- SCT cd values on Medium 1 (TAPPI T 826) is up to 3.50 kN/m

Typical Applications

Semi Chemical Fluting
Our semi chemical fluting uses semi chemical high kappa pulp from tropical eucalyptus

- Substance range: 95 – 200 gsm.
- Typical SCT cd Values: Up to 4,9 kN/m (TAPPI T 826)
