Celebrating inclusion through rugby
In partnership with International Mixed Ability Sports (IMAS), Smurfit Westrock proudly served as the main sponsor of the International Mixed Ability Rugby Tournament (IMART), held in Pamplona, Navarra, in June, 2025. The inclusive event brought together more than 1,400 players from over 25 countries, both with and without intellectual disabilities.
Beyond financial sponsorship, our colleagues from Smurfit Westrock Spain created a unique experience for participants by providing welcome boxes filled with cardboard-based products and decorations, including a five-meter-tall bull, symbolizing the spirit of Pamplona. The tournament not only showcased rugby as a powerful connector and driver of personal growth but also established Pamplona as an international hub of inclusive sports.
This was the second year we supported IMART, following Smurfit Westrock Cork’s sponsorship in 2022. Smurfit Westrock Cordovilla, located in the Navarre region, also led the design and production of the tournament’s sustainable materials.
