Supporting children with critical illnesses
Every year, Team Rynkeby embarks on the admirable journey from Denmark to Paris, cycling to benefit children with critical illnesses. In 2026, more than 2,000 Team Rynkeby riders, together with dedicated volunteers and support staff, will once again take part in the annual ride, raising vital funds for children with critical illnesses and their families.
Every penny counts, and a large portion of the funds are raised through sponsorships from generous companies. For the third consecutive year, Smurfit Westrock is proud to support Team Rynkeby. In 2026, we have upgraded our sponsorship to a Gold Plus sponsorship, contributing 40,000 Danish Kroner to the charity cycling team. The funds raised in Denmark support the vital work of the Children's Cancer Foundation and the Children's Lung Foundation for children and their families affected by illness.
Team Rynkeby's dedication and effort to help children with critical illnesses are commendable, and we are pleased to contribute to their important mission. At Smurfit Westrock, we have a strong focus on contributing to our local communities where we live and work, and Team Rynkeby's efforts are a cause close to our hearts, helping children and their families in difficult and serious situations.
In 2026, Team Rynkeby celebrates its 25th anniversary. Since its foundation, the charity cycling team has continued to unite more than 2,000 riders, volunteers and partners in the shared mission of supporting children with critical illnesses and their families. Over the past 25 years, Team Rynkeby has raised more than 770 million Danish Kroner, making a meaningful difference for children and families affected by serious illness.
Smurfit Westrock has a deep commitment to supporting the communities in which we live and work and championing the vulnerable. Each year our employees continue to generously give their time, energy, and expertise, to empower communities, encouraging wellbeing, inspiring future generations and protecting our planet.
