NYX Professional Makeup set out to make a bold statement with its national campaign, seeking an in-store display that would capture attention, embody the brand’s vibrant personality, and reflect its dedication to sustainability. The collaboration with Smurfit Westrock not only met these ambitious goals but also led to the creation of a display that earned industry acclaim, ultimately becoming a two-time award winner. This achievement highlighted NYX Professional Makeup’s innovative approach to retail experiences and its ongoing commitment to sustainability and excellence.

The Challenge

NYX Professional Makeup, known for high-quality, vegan-friendly cosmetics, needed a captivating in-store display to support its high-profile promotional campaign. The display needed to showcase the brand’s Duck Plump lip gloss, embody NYX Professional Makeup’s vibrant aesthetic and appeal to its millennial audience. Additionally, it had to adhere to strict sustainability standards (no plastic!) and allow for ease of installation and adaptability across a national retailer’s various end cap formats.

The Approach

NYX Professional Makeup collaborated with Smurfit Westrock to bring its vision to life. Inspired by the product itself, the display featured an eye-catching cylindrical-shaped base crafted entirely from corrugated board, expertly engineered to replicate the “Duck Plump” lip gloss tube.  

Precise color application reflected NYX Professional Makeup’s vibrant style, while shade labeling helped with accurate restocking. Adaptable features ensured versatile, reliable and easy setup for various store end caps.
